CURRENT EVENTS

Most people have defined domestic violence to include everything from saying unkind or demeaning words, to grabbing a person's arm, to hitting, kicking, choking, or even murdering. Domestic violence most often refers to violence between married or cohabiting couples. Studies indicate that the incidence of domestic violence among homosexual couples is approximately equivalent to that found among heterosexual couples. The most recent event in today’s world of domestic disputes is between two upcoming R&B icons, Chris Brown and Rihanna. The allegations against singer Chris brown took an even more serious turn February 9 when TMZ reported that the victim in the case was the 19-year-old singer's longtime girlfriend, Rihanna. Brown gave Rihanna a vicious and continuous beating. He allegedly started by shoving Rihanna's head against the passenger window, then punched her in the face numerous times while still driving. The beating reportedly splattered blood on Rihanna's clothing and the car interior. Days later, a gruesome police photo of Rihanna leaked to the media and it showed her with a bruised, scratched face and a split lip. It was clear evidence of a continuous pummeling, not some impassioned slap in the heat of the moment. Even more shocking details are that this may not have been Chris Brown's first time abusing Rihanna. Rihanna told the LAPD that Brown had attacked her several times in the past, and the assaults were gradually becoming more violent. Though rihanna forgave him, Brown still can face up to 4 years behind bars.

My thoughts: I just think that chris brown was wrong for hitting rihanna .I also think that he is a hypocrite because he faulted his stepfather for hitting his mother and he at a later date hit his significant other. Or it could be that he just follows in the footsteps of his stepfather because thats all he seen. it still doesnt justify the fact that he hit a lady. the only question is how can you fault some for doing something that you later did?
